Prabal Gurung for Target Review























So I believe I was the ONLY girl in Mississippi running to my nearest Target store on Sunday morning to catch a front row glimpse of the new Prabal Gurung/Target collaboration! As I raced in through the bright red doors there was the glistening rack with NOBODY even in site! Luckily I didn't have to worry about pieces being out of stock {minus the ones only sold online} and I was thrilled! I quickly snatched up several initial favorites and headed to the dressing room! 


 Above are the 9 pieces I splurged on and the 9 I think are most worthy of spending your hard earned dollars on! I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the collection and I believe the pricing is fairly reasonable for the excellent craftmanship. The sizing however was a bit interesting. I had to size up in just about everything except the blazer (I went from a small to a medium)....however I am NOT one to like my clothes tight..because I like to be quite comfortable. 

 Surprisingly, I was spot on with my initial predictions on what I thought would be my favorite choices from the collection {you never really know until you see it in real life!}. I would have to say hands down that if I could only choose one clothing item from the collection it would be the lace overlay top {number 4}. It has incredible lace and ruffle detailing and has a great feminine feel that looks great on just about any body type. Secondly, the shoes were just spectacular and I had an extremely tough decision when narrowing down my favorites to just two. The lace up black pump is completley stunning in person and the ankle strap shoe in neon can bring a great pop of color to any outfit. I am also craving the lace up pump in the nolita print!

 I know I didn't choose a lot of the dress options provided, but I felt like individual pieces were really the way to go without breaking the bank! There are a few additional items that are in the back of my mind {but I shall wait until they hit the discount rack!}

  1. ah! you picked such great pieces from the collection and i'm super jealous that your target had a great selection! i on the other hand, also rushed to target on sunday to find many pieces either not there or not in my size [especially that lace overlay top, which i was dying to try on]! not to be deterred, i tried on a bunch of items and i'm doing a little review on my thoughts on friday at phillyfabb.com!

  3. Ii got three dresses and I loved all three but the two silk dresses I noticed had poor stitching. but I loved the dresses just wish it was sewn better..

  7. This collection is by far my favorite designer capsule collection EVER! You've picked some really beautiful pieces and I can't wait to see them on you. Unfortunately, living in Canada, these pieces weren't available to us. I was tempted to drive to Buffalo to pick some up, but it didn't really work out for me. Oh well, I guess there's always ebay! :)

  14. I haven't checked it out yet honestly! I mean, it was snowing on Sunday and I didn't feel like dealing with the roads and the crowds. I might stop there later today just to take a look. I love the pieces, but I'm trying to be better about my spending. I love what you got though!

  24. I wanted 4 so bad but it was sold out!!! I ended up just getting the Nolita pointy flats, we'll see what they look like when they come. I heard that the fit of the collection was poor-was that not your experience? Maybe I'll go to Target one day this week and see if they have that lace black and white top in stores.

  30. I loved seeing your picks from the collection! We scored a lot of the same things and the white and lace top was my favorite as well. I ended up buying three sizes too big (then exchanging it for one two sizes too big)because I loved it so much!

  42. I really love the ankle strap shoes, but i can''t decide what color to get! The yellow seems to be the best choice. The white and yellow blouse is another favorite too.

  47. My store still has plenty of stock, and I'm hoping to get a few pieces on sale in the future. I shopped online and in the store. I took a few favorites to the fitting room for my blog review. My #1 pick was the First Date print sweatshirt. I also had trouble narrowing down my selections of heels. I adore shoes so much, and they were all appealing in some way. This collection was so colorful, I really enjoyed it!
