Made in America

I have seen so many articles recently that encourage families to try and have an All-American 100% made in the U.S.A. Christmas. I have always thought this to be a fun and exciting challenge, but I didn't realize how difficult and expensive this actually could be and how much we really do rely on overseas goods! So I decided to put together a list of 10 "Made in America" items that could be potential presents under the tree this year. Now I don't profess to be an expert by any means on American designers and goods, but I think this is a good start! Again, some of these items are a little pricey...but hey it is the price we pay to have 100% "Made in the USA" stamped on our belongings :)

Pink Dots + Mint

Sweater: JCREW | Pants: American Eagle sold out {similar style} | Hat: TJMAXX | Shoes: River Island | Necklace and Earrings: Lux TJMAXX recent | Bracelets: JCREWSkagen

Even though this is the time of year in which we like to tone down our colors a bit, I think that adding some color to your holiday outfits is a great way to get into the festive mood! It is also a great way to recycle and repurpose some of your great color combos from this past spring! As long as you add in the right amount of jewel tones with your colorful pieces you will create the right mixture of festiveness and sophistication!

Have a great Monday!
Keep it cool and refreshing!

P.S. Stay tuned for some really exciting news I will share with you at the end of this week!

Bahrain, London + Everything in Between

So I know I promised you guys a glimpse at my month long travel overseas! Sorry for the delay, but I thought the best way to give everybody a good idea of my trip is to put together a collage of my favorite pictures! So the first part of my trip landed me in the Middle East in the country of Bahrain. Now to be quite honest I was a little nervous about going to this part of the world, however I had an incredible time! The people were so friendly and I had a blast exploring a completley new culture totally unfamiliar to me! We even had the opportunity to tour the gold souk which is a market where there are all kinds of goodies and you can barter and bargain with the storekeepers!

The next part of my trip was about a month long adventure on a ship! Now since my job involves some pretty sensitive info I can't really share anything! But just know that there are a ton of sea snakes out there and that totally freaked me out (yes they are white snakes that just crawl on top of the water and are extremely poisionous!!..totally gross!)

The next part of my trip was by far my FAV! So remember how I was suppose to be going to Paris? Well things got changed up a little bit and I landed instead in the beautiful city of London for 4 days! Now you are probably wondering what in the world I am doing with this gosh aweful red hat on my head...well let's just say I WAS NOT prepared for such a drastic weather change from Bahrain to London. I mean we went from about 90 degrees to 40 and raining and I DID NOT bring the right clothes for London! So..I bought the first hat I could find..(I swear I look like I am part of the red hat society ladies!!). So moving on..London was so incredibly magical and the fashion was out of this world. I don't think I saw one person (guy or gal) not dressed head to toe in absolute perfection! I knew before going to London that it was a major fashion capital but I was so blown away! I even took pictures of some of my favorite looks in the department stores to take back and experiment! And I also tasted my first set of macarons for the first time (yes first time shocking I know!). And yes that is Zach Morris pictured above :) SWOON!

The history in London was my favorite part of my English adventure! I was able to tour Westminister Abby and see the beautiful venue in which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were married. We also explored the Tower of London and saw where all of the kings and queens lived and where some were also executed (I mean who isn't a fan of the Ann Boleyn story?!). We stopped by Harrod's department store to see their Christmas light production and the window displays were so spectacular! London is a definite must see and I highly recommend it as a great destination (just remember to bring a poncho and a big umbrella because it never stops raining!)

I am so blessed to have a job that lets me travel around the world! I have already been to Guam, Hawaii, Bahrain and London in less than a years time! Next year is posed to be just as spectacular and I will also get to travel with hubby next year too :) Thank you guys for sharing in my adventure with me and I hope you guys enjoy all of the pictures!

Have a great weekend everybody!
Christmas is almost here!
Keep it cool and refreshing :)

Two Years

Where has 2 years already gone? This was by far was the greatest and best day of my life! I felt the enormity of God's love for me on this I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he created this incredible man specifically for me and there is no greater feeling in the world!

Our wonderful and absolutely beautiful mothers!

We chose a Christmas themed wedding for December 4, 2010 {which looking back what was I thinking that was SEC Championship game day..but its ok because Auburn played that year instead of Alabama!} However, I was adamant that my bridal party was NOT going to look like a bunch of Mrs. Clause's walking down the aisle! So when I found these dresses I fell immediately in love with the elegant ruffled shoulder touch!

My favorite flowers are tulips, however this was definitely not an option for a Christmas themed wedding! However, I did find this gorgeous bouquet online that was a combination of blood red roses and black calla lilies!  I immediately fell in love with this color combo! Red is one of my favorite colors!

Kept the guys simple in black and white!

I love this shot! He is waiting to see me for the first time!

Under the majestic oaks at the Bragg Mitchell Mansion in Mobile, Alabama

Happy 2 Year Anniversary Baby!

That being said, I am missing my hubby terribly! Three more weeks until the love of my life returns!

Have a great Tuesday Everyone!
Keep it cool and refreshing!
