Ahh Candy Coated Jewelry! Who doesn't love the idea of having a bit of candy around your neck!? In our discussion on neon baubles a few posts back, we discussed how pricey some of these tantalizing pieces can cost! If you want a quick DIY solution that won't break the bank try the following steps below to create your own one of a kind refreshing creation :)
First off, head on over to your local thrift store or goodwill and find a rhinestone necklace {preferably vitange} that best suites your style!
Next, decide which colors you want to utilize to create your necklace. Head on over to your local store and pick up a few bottles of nail polish in the colors you have decided to use. .
Finally, pick an area to lay out your project and begin painting the individual rhinestones with the nail polish. Keep a bottle of nail polish remover and some cotton swabs nearby to help clean off any unwanted spots as you are painting.
Give the freshly painted necklace some time to dry and wa la..you have your very own and extremely affordable candy coated neon necklace! :)
Today is the LAST Day to enter the GIVEAWAY for the hot pink bubble necklaces! Remember the deadline is 11:59 PM tonight! The winners will be announced later this week {pending that I have power!!}. Have a Refreshing Day!

ReplyDeleteMe too! Can't wait to show you guys what other great things I found this week! Loving the thrift store and goodwill lately!
DeleteWoah, this is such a cool idea! Does the nail polish end up chipping off after a while?

Kristina does the Internets
Thanks Kristina! I haven't had it chip yet, but just in case I have a full bottle of nail polish ready to go to fill in any chipped off areas..and that is the great thing..since it is super affordable..you don't feel like you ruined something really expensive. I have heard of other people painting them too..but I think paint would rub off on clothes easier than nail polish would if it happened to get on your shirt or something! Thanks for stopping by the blog!
