On Monday, I shared with you all what I will be wearing for Thanksgiving Day. Although I prefer a more laid back style for prepping my holiday meal, I realize that not everyone wants to be comfy-cozy chic. For those who want to add a bit of holiday glam for Thanksgiving Day or need an idea for an upcoming Christmas soirĂ©e, here is a great option to get you in a festive mood. I opted for a sweater dress (this one is 50% off right now) and included a few more glam pieces like these bordeaux colored tights and sequin heels. Add a low swept chignon and some glitz earrings to finish the look, and wallah you are ready for a holiday celebration! I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving Day tomorrow.

If you are anything like me, the week of Thanksgiving gets me excited for two reasons: 1) I get to eat an endless amount of guilt-free food while reconnecting with family and friends and 2) Black Friday. Now truth be told, I have never done the whole camp out at 2 AM and wait in line deal, however I have braved a crowd or two for a good door-buster deal. The reality behind Black Friday, however, is that many people don't realize that Black Friday deals are in fact not the best deals of the year. These deals usually occur after the holiday rush is over around New Years day. But, if you do decide to brave the cold and crowds this Friday, I wanted to show you how you can get the best bang for your buck!

Believe it or not, Black Friday is an AMAZING time for beauty promotions...for example the ULTA Black Friday ad is one massive beauty extravaganza. This is a great opportunity to get your hands on higher end beauty products such as Tarte, Urban Decay, Butter London, STILA, Philosophy and many more brands at an unbelievably discounted price. I, for one, am an avid user of the Sexy Hair products which typically retail for around $17.99 a bottle and this week they will be discounted to a shocking $6.99 a bottle...for a savings of well over $10! Above are a few of my favorite ULTA deals for Friday...

The best part is that you don't even have to stand in line to catch these amazing deals! ULTA will open its doors at 8PM on Thanksgiving Day, or you can shop on-line starting @ 7PM CST Thursday evening.

Holiday Ready | Plaid + Fur...

FAUX FUR VEST: Gianni Bini | PLAID SHIRT: Old Navy 30% OFF | LEGGINGS: Nordstrom | BOOTIES: Nordstrom | BAG: Primary New York (OBSESSED!!) 15% off here | HAT: Eric Javits | EARRINGS: BaubleBar | BRACELETS: T+J DesignsStyle By Stories | LIPS: Kismet "Burnout"

. With Thanksgiving preparation in full swing this week, planning a holiday outfit can sometimes seem like somewhat of an afterthought. The struggle to juggle cooking, hosting, and looking fabulous all at the same time can sometimes seem a bit overwhelming and stressful. Whenever I am hosting a large gathering, I try to plan my outfits ahead of time, but more often than not, I am throwing my outfit together as my first set of guests ring my doorbell.

That's why I love the idea of a chic and casual holiday look that is both stylish and multi-functional at the same time. Today's outfit is just that for me. I can rest comfortably in my leggings and plaid button-down while I am mulling about the kitchen, and whenever I am ready to sit down and relax I can add in a more glamorous touch with a faux-fur vest, a bit of bling, and a fedora (to hide my crazy I've been cooking since 4am hairstyle). It's the perfect way to be polished and practical at the same time!

Have a great Monday everyone...

TGIF, everyone...it's almost Thanksgiving!! This weekend Ivory and I will probably be doing one of two things: 1) cheering on our Alabama Crimson Tide football team (#1 again whoot whoot) or 2) baking, baking, and more baking in preparation for Thanksgiving day. I am so excited to be in charge for our meal on Thursday, and I have so many recipes that I want to try (thank you Pinterest for your never ending supply of apple or pumpkin dessert recipes which flood my feed everyday, you are much appreciated). Any exciting plans that you have for this weekend before Thanksgiving? I would love to hear about them!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone...

GIFT GUIDE | THE HOSTESS

Holiday Gift Guide - The Hostess

It's that time of year again everybody...Christmas is officially here ya'll! It seems with each passing year, like the holiday season begins earlier and earlier, but whenever I see the first Target Christmas commercial pop up on my television (how cute is the little girl with the marshmallows and puppy dog), I know that there is no turning back now! As the holiday season unfolds right before us, I thought it would be great to share several holiday gift and style guides throughout the next two months. Believe it or not, I have my first holiday office party today and what better way to kick start the holiday gift and style guide series than with a look at how you can bless your host or hostess at their upcoming event. With one of these gifts, you will be the ultimate holiday party hit!

Let the holiday shopping season officially begin!
Keep it cool and refreshing....

Comfy Cozy Cardi...

CARDIGAN: Kohl's old (craving this wrap option) | BOOTIES: Altuzarra Target (currently 50% off!!) Shirt: Zara | LEGGINGS: Nordstrom |  HAT: Eric Javits | NECKLACE: Banana Republic (40% off with code BRSMILE40) | BAG: Prada (love the Tory Burch version) | WATCH: Michele | LIPS: M.A.C.

Ok ya'll it's down right BRUTALLY cold outside...BRRR!  We got to about 17 degrees this morning and this southern girl just is NOT use to this type of cold at all. At times it can be difficult to figure out how to dress for this type of weather here in Mississippi. One minute is 20 degrees outside and the next (like this afternoon) we are looking at highs around 60. Whenever we have temperatures like this, I immediately look to layers when choosing my outfit for the day. I love to start with light weight shirts or blouses on bottom and then I like to add in heavier pieces like cable-knit sweaters or cardigans on top that I know I can easily take off if I get too warm throughout the day. Yesterday was one of those days!

Have a wonderful Wednesday.... just one more week until Thanksgiving!
Keep it cool and refreshing....

Sweater Dress...

SWEATER DRESS: Zara sold out (love this one) | TURTLENECK: J.CREW | SCARF: Target sold out (love thisthisthis, and this option)  | BAG: Tory Burch | BOOTS: Tory Burch old (identical option here) | BOOT SOCKS: Nordstrom | SUNGLASSES: Karen Walker | WATCH: Michael Kors | LIPS: Kismet

The cold weather has finally descended upon us here in the South. The leaves have finally turned, and with Thanksgiving only a week away, I am really getting into the holiday spirit. Since I have been tasked with cooking the Thanksgiving meal this year, it will be all aprons and baking next Thursday, so I wanted to share my Thanksgiving outfit a little early (minus next week's flour in my hair).

I found this beautiful off-white sweater dress at Zara back in September when I was in New York for my brother-in-law's wedding. I know it was a bit early to be thinking about what I was going to wear for Thanksgiving back in September, but when you fall in love with a dress and you just know it's the one...well there's just no talking a girl out of it then. This exact dress has since sold out at Zara, but I found a gorgeous identical option for you all here. It's not only a great layering piece, but it's so soft and cozy and will also be a great transition piece as we head into Christmas..

*Stay tuned this week for some fun holiday gift guides for everyone on your holiday shopping list!

Have a great Monday everyone...
Keep it cool and refreshing...
